The Women Who Make School Feeding Possible

December 13, 2024

School meals programs ensure that children get nutritious meals that give them the energy and incentive to stay in school and secure a primary education. Since 2022, Counterpart’s Our Bright Future  program—implemented with CESC, Associacao Progresso, and Creative Associates and funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture McGovern-Dole program—has provided 17 million school meals to more than 75,000 children. These meals help students grow up healthier, achieve an education, and dream of a brighter future for themselves and their families. And none of these far-reaching impacts would be possible without the women who serve as school cooks, teachers, nutritionists, moms, and every other critical role that helps these children to thrive.

Watch this video to learn more about how the women of Mozambique are feeding, supporting, and nurturing the next generation of children through Our Bright Future’s initiatives.
