Art can serve as a profound medium for understanding shared experiences. Counterpart’s Rights and Dignity project, funded by USAID, held a workshop on illustration and human rights, titled “HumanizARTE.” The workshop aimed to promote the defense of human rights among youth through the arts, educating participants on the intersection between visual artistic expressions and raising awareness of human rights issues in the country. During the two-day workshop, more than 70 young people deepened their understanding of human rights by using art as a tool for civic advocacy. The experience culminated in the creation of individual illustrations, allowing them to reflect on the importance of the human rights. They left motivated to share the knowledge they gained within their communities. Watch the video below to learn more.
