Julie Borlaug
For 20 years, Julie Borlaug has successfully worked in international agricultural development, agricultural communications, external and corporate relations, and development. As president of Borlaug Consulting, she is working with the Global Farmer Network to assist in growing the program and developing new partnerships and funding streams. She is also a consultant with The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in communications and external relations.
As the granddaughter of Dr. Norman Borlaug, she works to champion his legacy by fostering more successful collaborative partnerships across sectors and scientific disciplines to bring better and faster innovation to end hunger.
Borlaug is dedicated to improving agricultural communications by bringing innovative, bold messaging to the agriculture sector. By opening a different dialogue and using new, fresh avenues to reach out and partner with collaborators, farmers, and consumers, she hopes more people will become involved, understand, and support the need for agriculture technologies.
In addition to Counterpart, she serves on several boards and advisory councils, including The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, Council for Agricultural Science & Technology, Community for Zero Hunger, Planet Forward at George Washington University, Texas A&M Dallas Urban Agriculture Center, and Global Coalition for Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture.
